AccentHansen invest in a greener future
Whilst increasing productivity and quality of their steel doors
July 2008 – AccentHansen, one of the UKs market-leading steel door manufacturers and installers has invested over £200,000 in a state-of-the-art Rainer punch press to assist in the reduction of their carbon footprint.
As a large manufacturer, AccentHansen are all too aware of the affect their manufacturing processes have on the environment and are taking positive steps to change. As one of the most advanced machines on the market, the new press enables them to reduce their oil consumption as it does not use any hydraulics so eliminating the need for a twice yearly oil change and the resulting disposal of the used oil. Additionally, the electricity consumption is lower, again benefiting its carbon footprint.
They are also able to reduce waste and pollutants via the programmable work chute which ensure smaller parts are separated from the waste and no longer get mixed up. This feature ensures their production lines are more efficient as the parts they need are produced and delivered as scheduled.
What’s more, AccentHansen customers will see a direct improvement in the quality of the doors they receive as the new machine offers an increase and improvement in the quality of tooling, and a brush bed instead of a roller bed, will ensure doors are produced to an even higher standard than before.
Mark Mallen, Managing Director, AccentHansen, said “The new punch press is a big investment for a big gain. It not only continues our efforts to ensure our production processes benefit our customers via improved productivity, increased quality and competitive pricing but also with as minimal impact on the environment as possible. Being green is important to us and we will continue to do anything we can to make a difference. Our new FastTrack service is benefitting from this punch press straight away with steel doors ready for delivery within 10 days from order. “
